What Are Under Eye Fillers?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Under-eye fillers, often referred to as <\/span>tear trough fillers<\/b>, are injectable dermal fillers<\/a> used to improve hollowing beneath the lower eyelids. <\/span>Most treatments use hyaluronic acid-based fillers. When the hollow is the main reason the area looks tired, a carefully planned treatment can soften the depression and make the transition from the lower eyelid to the cheek look smoother.<\/span><\/p>\n

It isn’t about making the under-eye area look fuller. In fact, too much volume can create a completely different problem. What Is a Tear Trough?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The tear trough is the groove that runs from the inner corner of the lower eyelid towards the cheek. Some people naturally have a noticeable tear trough. In others, it becomes more prominent as the face changes with age.<\/span><\/p>\n

What makes it confusing is that the hollow itself may not be dark. The hollow creates a shadow, and that shadow makes the area look darker. <\/span>This is one reason people sometimes spend years trying different eye creams without seeing much change. If the underlying problem is structural, skincare alone cannot recreate lost volume.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Does Under Eye Filler Help With Dark Circles?<\/b><\/h2>\n

It can, but it depends on why your under-eyes look dark. If you have a brown or brownish-grey colour in the skin, you may have a pigmentation component. Filler will not remove that pigment. <\/span>If the area looks blue or purple because of visible vessels beneath thin skin, filler may not be the main treatment either. But if the darkness becomes much more obvious because there is a hollow underneath the eye, reducing that hollow can soften the shadow.<\/span><\/p>\n

And quite often, people have a combination. For example, you may have mild pigmentation and a deep tear trough. In that situation, treating only the hollow won’t make the pigmentation disappear, but it may still make the eyes look less tired.<\/span><\/p>\n
